Plan to improve mobility, accessibility and road safety in Valladolid
The project, promoted by the Provincial Council of Valladolid, was born in 2014 due to the need to guarantee the mobility of the citizens in the municipalities of Valladolid, of between 5,000 and 20,000 inhabitants and favor their secure access to essential services, job positions and leisure.
With this purpose, and with the added objective of generating a culture of sustainable mobility, greendeal has made a global diagnosis on mobility, road safety and accessibility in the nine municipal areas of the province within the established population range (Medina de Rioseco, Zaratan, Arroyo de la Encomienda, Simancas, Tordesillas, La Cisterniga, Tudela de Duero, Peñafiel and Iscar).
As a result of the study, a General Plan has been prepared with recommendations for improvements in mobility, accessibility and road safety applicable to all the districts analyzed, as well as to other municipalities in the province, and a catalog of specific low-cost actions to mitigate, in the short term, the problems identified in the sensitive environments analyzed in each municipality.
Thanks to the development of this study, the Council of Valladolid and the nine municipalities involved have been able to have a tool that will enable to enhance more sustainable, accessible and safer travel among the more than 70,000 inhabitants benefited.
